The story of Tay and Kyle begins when they’re just 15 years old; they’re working together in the local supermarket. Set to the romantic backdrop of fresh produce, it was a teenage rom-com waiting to happen. We imagine there were lots of checking each other’s rosters and sneaking surprise chocolate bars into lockers. And while they’re a little older now — wiser, too — Tay and Kyle are still as in love as ever.
You see, this love is one not to be extinguished by growing up or moving on or finally leaving the supermarket to take on the world. It’s one that travels with each of them, only getting stronger as it goes. Eventually, this love will lead them to the fateful day when they will commit to being in love forever.
It was a magical day at Melbourne’s lush Glasshaus when Tay and Kyle’s family and friends came together to witness their love story. There were tales of young love, butterflies in tummies and major feelings swirling in the air. But it was their celebrant, Damo Hughes (huge fan of this man), who reminded us it’s not always about these feelings, no matter how beautiful they are: “Love isn’t just a feeling — it’s an action, it’s something that you do, it’s something that you show.”
Which is exactly why we gathered to celebrate this perfect couple. It’s also probably why Kyle promised to have food and wine on the table when Tay gets home every night. That’s true love.
