Sometimes known as enchantment or wizardry, ‘magic’ is the power of influencing events by using mysterious or supernatural forces. Extra special moments are often said to be ‘sprinkled with magic’, and extraordinary events that have to be experienced to be believed are described as having ‘magic in the air’. The wedding of Rachel and Glenn was one of these unexplainable moments, and we thank our lucky stars we got to be a part of it.
The magic began long before this mystical day in New Zealand, however. In their early days, Glenn would bring Rachel a cup of tea in bed and read her a paragraph from her favourite book, Pride and Prejudice. Now, as they stood on a cliff, near a lake, in the breathtaking region of Fiordland, they said their I Do’s. Rain fell all day — except for one hour during their loved-up circle ceremony — as if it was a special wedding gift from the skies. Emotional vows were read, guests shed a tear, and the crowd broke out into an impromptu performance of Aretha Franklin’s I Say A Little Prayer. You can’t get any more magical than that.
Magic followed well into the night with crackling fire, special speeches and plenty of dancing. We have a feeling Rachel and Glenn will hold these moments close to them for as long as they both shall live — and maybe a little bit after that, too.
